Wireless messaging company USA Mobility Inc. on Friday announced several executive departures, including that of its chief operating officer, and said it would consolidate its operations in an effort to cut costs.
USA Mobility said Stan Sech, its chief operating officer, will leave the company at the end of June, and that its chief technology officer, Peter C. Barnett, will succeed him. Barnett will continue to head the company's engineering, network operations, and information technology organizations.

In addition, George Z. Moratis, senior vice president of finance and treasurer, will leave next month. Chief Financial Officer Thomas L. Schilling will assume those duties.
USA Mobility also said it will consolidate its three operating divisions of five regions each into two operating divisions of six regions each.
Both the management changes and consolidation reflect the ongoing integration of Arch Wireless Inc. and Metrocall Holdings Inc., whose merger formed the company last November, USA Mobility said. It also said the moves were in line with its aim of creating a low-cost operating company.
USA Mobility also said that board director William E. Redmond resigned as a director effective June 6 after he accepted the post of chief executive at another company in an unrelated industry.
